Bena Vida Maines is a small cattery in beautiful Northern California breeding American type Maine Coons. These gentle giants have become the obsession of our family. They are known to be big, friendly, loving, intelligent and often silly cats. These “dogs of the cat world” are one of the most family-friendly breeds around. Raising our Maine Coons is not a business but a passion for us.

All of our breeding cats are DNA tested through Optimal Selection for the following diseases:

HCM
PKD
SMA
PKDef

and 46 other possible diseases. They are vaccinated annually and screened for HD and HCM.

OUR KITTENS

FRIENDLY, HEALTHY MAINE COON KITTENS

All of our kittens come with a one year health guarantee, are FeLV/FIV tested, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and desexed before they leave our cattery for their forever home. They are raised as pets in our home (they are never caged), handled often and surrounded by kids and large dogs. This is what creates their sweet, loving and well-socialized temperaments.

OUR QUALIFICATIONS

We are certified through TICA and CFA. These are the most well known registries for pedigreed cats. Being registered through these associations mean we take care in being a responsible cattery that provides the closest to breed standard that we are able to produce.

We believe that continuing to learn is one of the best things you can do a reputable breeder. We have completed the educational courses listed below. PawPeds Course G1 teaches the basics about cats as a species, and how to care for them the best you can. Cat Breeder Sensei’s course teaches the fundamentals of breeding pedigree cats, and how to use the best practices in your cattery.
